What is AutoAdvise?
AutoAdvise is an open repair program where body shops market their services and the owner chooses a shop online. AutoAdvise brings non-DRP related insurance claims straight to you from the insurance carrier while introducing your shop to the vehicle owner.
I don’t use Mitchell products, can I still sign up?
You don’t need to be a Mitchell customer or use any other Mitchell products to be a part of AutoAdvise. This program is a separate offering from Mitchell which will help you find jobs in your area that you might not have known about otherwise.
What parts of the country is AutoAdvise active in?
Right now most of the volume is in FL, IL and NJ. Shops in CA, IA, MO and NY may also see some jobs as we expand and grow in these areas. New locations are in the works, so check back often, or setup your account now to be notified by email when AutoAdvise opens in your area.
Do I need to install any software to use the program?
All you need is internet access and an email address. Everything is done online through the AutoAdvise website.
I think I already have an account, what should I do?
If you think you already have an account but don't know your login, email
moc.llehctim@troppuSesivdAotuA
for assistance.
How much does it cost to be a part of AutoAdvise?
There is no cost to you until a vehicle owner chooses your shop for their repair, at which point there is a $110 charge payable by credit card.
Do I submit a proposal based on how much I can complete the repair for?
No, the cost of the repair has already been outlined in the damage appraisal from the independent or staff appraiser, and this is what should be followed if the owner brings their vehicle to you for repair. Proposals simply let the vehicle owner know you're interested in repairing their vehicle and give you the option of providing the vehicle owner with an estimated start date and duration of the repairs.
What if supplemental damage is found during the repair process?
If additional damage is found during teardown, follow the standard supplement procedure for the insurance carrier. AutoAdvise will allow you to note the supplement and extend the completion date for the repair. Everything else can be handled just as you would normally deal with a supplement.
Who pays for the repair?
Payment for AutoAdvise repair jobs should be handled like any other job. All payment options and procedures should be discussed with the vehicle owner.
Labor Rates and Part Types
What labor rates and part types are used in appraisals?
Damage appraisals are written using the prevailing labor rates in the local market.
All damage appraisals are written according to the insurance carrier's guidelines, and so may include LKQ and Aftermarket parts if it is feasible for a quality repair, and if they are available at the time the appraisal is written.
Getting Picked for a Repair Job
How does the owner choose a shop?
The owner reviews the proposals from all the interested shops and makes their decision based on a number of criteria.
The owner uses the earliest repair start dates and the estimated length of repair (if provided), how far away the shop is, the shop's warranty, certifications, specialties, amenities and feedback left by other vehicle owners to make their decisions.
Feedback
Why does the owner need to leave feedback on my shop?
AutoAdvise is an online community, and, like any community, it is stronger when the members of the community participate.
The owner’s feedback on his or her experience is valuable information for other vehicle owners who are in the process of selecting a collision repair shop, helping these users select quality repair shops to meet their needs.
You benefit because your shop's good work now gets recognized and will help bring in more business.
Who will see the feedback the owner leaves?
The owner’s feedback rating and comments will be visible to all members of the community on the shop information page for the specific shop that performed the vehicle owner's repairs.
Personally identifying information, however, will not be visible to other members of the community.
SceneExchange
Wondering what happened to SceneExchange?
The SceneExchange program is now AutoAdvise. There have been no changes to the concept behind the program and all existing accounts remain intact.
